Crocheted Yurt Alert! Kate Pokorny of New Hampshire is embarking on a crocheted yurt adventure. Inspired by Margaret Wertheim’s TED talk (in which she used crochet to represent hyperbolic space and coral reefs), Pokorny (a long-time felter) decided to crochet a self-supporting yurt out of hand-felted cording. This will take 500 pounds of wool (though she has fundraised the money for her material).
You know I love the crocheted yurts (see banner image).
Read about her experiences at her blog, Yurt Alert.
