Dog yurt (for St. Patrick’s Day?)

I really wanted to post something about yurts in Ireland for St. Patrick’s Day, but couldn’t find any articles (without just pointing to someone’s yurt rental). Sigh.

Hopefully this is a good substitute:

A dog yurt. That’s right, a dog yurt.

Last year Jennifer at the blog The Felt Mouse created this amazing canine shelter as part of a challenge to “make something fabulous and hopefully totally expected out of items you buy at a dollar store that cost a total of $10 or less.”

Supplies cost $9 and included:

  • chopsticks
  • rubber bands
  • masking tape
  • strainer
  • velour baby blanket
  • picture frame
  • kite (for string)
  • rug

Visit her blog to see the step-by-step construction.
